A new rapid response report from the North Carolina auditor found that more than $111 million was spent on 55 emergency camps set up in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene to help victims and storm responders.

North Carolinians are generally okay with sports betting, but a majority wants the state to ban prediction markets, according to a Meredith College poll released Tuesday. The North Carolina General Assembly legalized online sports betting in 2024.

Attorneys for the former Olympic canoeist charged with damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool have asked the judge in the case to release more information from the grand jury.
